Should I use video in cold emails?
Video can lift replies in cold email if the link looks human and tracked. Embeds and giant attachments usually backfire.
- Cold email
- Video outreach
Cold email is already fighting spam filters and short attention. Video is not magic. It is a way to sound like a person faster than three paragraphs of pitch. Scale that with Campaigns, not with one anonymous link you hope 500 people open.
When video helps
- You mention something specific about their world in the first ten seconds
- The email stays short: context + personal link + one ask
- Each prospect gets their own Campaign link (not one shared URL for the whole list)
- You can see who watched so follow-up is sane
When it hurts
- Fake “play” GIFs that feel like phishing
- Giant video files attached to the email (bounces, blocks, zero watch proof)
- Long product tours before you earned attention
- One generic public link blasted to everyone, with no idea who engaged
How Campaigns fit cold outreach
Import your list into a Campaign. Vyrol gives each person a personal tracked link to the same Share Page (and any page attachment you added). You still send from your normal email or mail tool. Vyrol is not a bulk cold sequencer. It is the tracked destination and the scoreboard after you hit send.
That is the opposite of “spray the same mystery clip at strangers.” Same useful video, personal delivery, named engagement. Merge fields in the message pack help the note feel written for them.
How to add video to email (the way that works)
- 1Publish on a Share Page with one next-step button
- 2Create a Campaign from that page and import your prospect list
- 3In each email: two or three lines of text, then that person’s Campaign link
- 4Optional: a still of you on camera that links to their page (not a fake in-inbox player)
- 5Follow up the people who watched. Leave the no-opens for later.
“Why won’t my email video play?”
Because most inboxes are terrible video players. Embedded HTML video breaks across Outlook, Gmail, and mobile. That is why people think “video email is broken.”
Fix: stop embedding. Host the video on a page. Link out. One click, reliable playback, analytics. More on that mindset in how to send video without attachments.
Do videos improve reply rates?
They can, when the message is personal and easy to watch. They will not save a bad list or a selfish pitch. Treat video as clarity and proof, not as a growth hack sticker.
